Current Totals: HSRMainLogoAug2013 £1540.50 and halfway-total£1525.00

On May 31st 2014, Marc and I along with our rescue Staffie Snoop will embark on the ‘Coast to Coast’  made famous by Alfred Wainwright, starting from the shores of The Irish Sea in St Bees, taking us up through the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the Yorkshire Moors before finally coming to a finish 192(ish) miles later on the shores of The North Sea at Robin Hoods Bay, North Yorkshire.  The walk itself will (hopefully!!) take 2 weeks and will take us through some of the most beautiful yet remote and rugged terrain in England.  We will be carrying all our belongings with us, even Snoop who has his own rucksack which holds his water, poo bags and doggy treats!

We will be funding this trip ourselves which means that all accommodation, food, drink and (most importantly!) plasters will be paid for by us so EVERY SINGLE PENNY donated will go directly to the charity you choose to sponsor.

As avid animal lovers we have decided to raise money for two charities that are very close to our hearts, Happy Staffie Rescue and Halfway Home Dog Rescue.  Both amazing charities run entirely by volunteers who work tirelessly to rescue and rehome unwanted, abandoned, stray and death row dogs.  Looking after and nurturing the dogs in their care while trying to raise money, raise awareness and most importantly find loving homes and happy families to adopt their dogs.

Both charities rely heavily on donations to help with the cost of vet bills, food, kennelling etc and need all the help they can get to carry on helping dogs that, through no fault of their own find themselves unloved and in need of a warm bed, clean water and a kind word.

Happy Staffie Rescue  – Where our beloved Snoop came from, this charity is run by volunteers who are dedicated to easing the pain of Staffies who have found themselves alone in rescue.

Halfway Home Dog Rescue  – Our local dog rescue centre, run by volunteers taking in dogs of all shapes and sizes and helping them to secure a happier future.  – Donate via Paypal

Snoop, Marc and I would be so grateful if you are able to sponsor us on this – Every penny really does count!

If you want to donate cash please come and see me.

  1. Oh my goodness! Michael Owen just re-tweeted for you guys, how amazing is that? So absolutely excited and thrilled, thank you Marc and Phillippa and of course Snoop!

    • I know! I couldn’t believe it! I almost nearly fainted! He’s a huge dog fan apparently and took a rescue Staffie with him when he carried the Olympic torch so I can honestly say he’s now my favourite footballer of all time!
